Knowing how to choose the best tennis racket is half the job done in a game of tennis. For as much as your skill, having the right or wrong racket also contribute to your performance in the court. Standard guidelines for using rackets vary according to age but factors such as physical stature and strength also matters in choosing the right racket.

Tennis rackets manufactured in the earlier days were mostly made of laminated wood materials and for the purpose of strings, animal guts were used and so they were generally heavy. So regardless of your choice for a particular racket, players had to use heavy rackets. However, modern rackets now comes in various weight, length, and sizes. As a result, players could now choose according to one’s requirement.

In principle, there are three types of tennis racket such as Power or Game Improvement Rackets, Tweener Rackets, and Control or Player Rackets. Besides, due to the importance of shapes, length, and weight in deciding the efficiency, rackets are also made available in customizable form so that you may configure according to your needs and skills.

There are basically three categories of a tennis racket, with several sub-categories under each category. The three categories are: Power or Game Improvement Rackets; Tweener Rackets; and Control or Player Rackets. Besides, people also have their rackets customized as per requirements of the length, size, weight, and their balancing prowess.

Then the Tweener tennis rackets that are sized anywhere between 27. 5 inches to 110 inches. These rackets are designed keeping in mind players having intermediate skills and so factors such as mobility and maneuverability are taken into account. These rackets, we may say are hybrids of both advanced level rackets and beginner level racket.

The third in the categories is the Control or Players tennis rackets, which focus on professional players. They are somewhat weighty, smaller, have balanced head, and are thinly beamed. The advantage of this type is that the smaller and balanced head of the rackets facilitate easy maneuverability and handling of the racket. Since they are smaller, they are not very powerful. And the reason also being that the players are supposed to provide the power required for an efficient stroke.

Ideal for professional players, Control or Players tennis rackets are heavier in weights, have smaller and balanced heads, and have thinner beams. The smaller and balanced head of this rackets offers the benefits of maneuverability and handling. They are generally low power rackets as the power is expected to be exerted by the players themselves.

As seen above, tennis rackets are available in various shapes, sizes, lengths, weights, and stringing patterns. Therefore, to narrow down your choices; you need to know exactly what length or head size will do for you. There are different lengths of the rackets ranging from 27 inches all the way up to 32 inches. So choose the one that’s appropriate for your stroking style and your physical stature, and your skills.

Keeping in mind your personal skills, stamina, and swings, you may choose the appropriate weight, length or head size. Tennis rackets generally comes in lengths that are as long as 32 inches. However, your stroking styles, stature, and preference

Whether you are a newcomer to playing tennis or a well seasoned player, a tennis ball machine can help you further improve your game. In tennis, just like in any other sport, if you want to improve your game, you need to practice, practice and practice.

The most important part about the practice isn’t really to learn new moves or skills, even though, this is part of it. The crucial part of practicing any skill is repetition. Just think about it: When you are first beginning to learn a new sport, you need to go through the moves slowly, step by step. In tennis, by repeating the same forehand and backhand strokes over and over again, you are ingraining the motion of the swings into your brain, so they become your second nature. You want to be able to hit a return from any position and angle without having to think about it – how to position your feet, shoulders or how to hold your racket.

The following presents 3 main advantages of using a ball machine to improve your tennis game:

1. You don’t need a partner or coach to practice. The main benefit of using a tennis machine is the simple fact that you can use it by yourself. You don’t need a partner or teacher. You can practice whenever is most convenient for you, and you do not have to wait for times when you and your tennis partner are both free, or spend more money than necessary on tennis lessons.

2. Lets you practice exact same shots over and over again. The 2nd benefit that you will find extremely useful include being able to practice the same type of return, over and over again. The more advanced machines can be programmed to use the exact force and spin for your level of play, which is especially helpful if you are having trouble with a particular return shot and need to practice that shot, again and again. This is something that is hard to do when practicing with a friend.

3. Saves money on coaching sessions in the long run. Even though a ball machine can be a big investment – the prices range from just under $500 for smaller, less advanced units, to over 2,000 dollars for bigger units, with lots of advanced features, in the long run they are still less costly than paying for coaching sessions every time you wish to practice specific shots.

Tennis is a truly wonderful game and a great form of exercise. Tennis ball machine can help you advance to the next level quickly and enjoy it even more!

The Australian Open once again got the tennis year off to a great start and whetted out appetite for the forthcoming season. The master they call Roger Federer once again lifted that famous trophy, sending out a warning to all his opponents that he’s still the man to beat.

There again, it’s still very early in the season, and way too early to write anyone off yet. Look at the surprises last year threw up, a prime example being Juan Martin Del Potro winning the US Open title by beating Federer in the final.

Melanie Oudin, the 18 year old American, had a terrific 2009 and could really break through this year. Reaching the semi final in the US Open was the highlight of last year, who’s to say she won’t do even better this year?

On the women’s tour there is the young American Melanie Oudin, she as the surprise package at the 2009 US Open by beating some very big names to reach the semi final stage.

A young man with the aspirations to take Federer’s crown is Marin Cilic. A top ten player at only 21, he has started this year with 15 wins and only 1 loss. Watch out for him this year to really rattle the top players. The depth of his game at this young age is staggering, and he can only get better.

Nikolay Davydenko is no newcomer, but at 28 seems to be finally getting the recognition he deserves as a great player. In their last three meetings he has beaten Federer twice, which will no doubt be a thorn in Federer’s size.

The next player has been around for quite a while but is enjoying a great resurgence in his career. 28 year old Nikolay Davydenko is in the form of his life and has risen to #6 in the world.

Finally these are behind him and he is enjoying his tennis again. Currently ranked no.6, his recent form against Federer in particular has been very impressive. On form both physically and mentally, watch out for some great results from Davydenko in the coming year.

This article is for new or intermediate Table Tennis players who are buying a new table tennis table or wish to upgrade, we will be talking about what you need to look for when buying a table tennis table.

Remember they want your cash!

All manufacturers are trying to convince you that their product is the best for you! So you must get it clear in your mind what you need from a new table. You must focus on what is important to YOU before you buy a table. Are you playing with a few mates in the garage after school, or can you see yourself as the next Olympic Champion, because in this day and age not many people have got money to burn right!

Is this your Families First Table Tennis Table.

If you intend to allow all of the family to use the table I would suggest looking to the budget end of the market. Lets face it young families tend to give a table a hard time when learning, so it makes sense to buy carefully at first, and later upgrade if somebody shows real flare and commitment to the sport.

Fixed or Folding Table.

Few people have the room to leave a table tennis table set up permanently in the house so i would recommend a folding table as they are very easy to use, and make good starter tables. Ensure the table can be setup and closed by 1 person. Good tables have rollers so you can move it around. You don’t want your table to move during play, so ensure the brakes work well.

Even if you determine that you can leave your table set up all the time, things can, and inevitably do change so a folding table can make very good sense in the long term. There are many factors to consider when making a big purchase such as this.

Is Table Thickness an issue?

Tables that are used for competitions are always 25mm or 1 inch thick and are quite expensive for most users. I think most people will be perfectly happy with a good quality 19mm table. I’m sure even Olympic champions didn’t start on top spec competition standard tables so consider all the options first. Manufacturers like Stiga make marvellous tables, so unless you can find a 25mm table at an irresistable price, this would be my recommendation.

When you are playing competitions it makes sense to practice on a table of the same standard as your competetors, so now is a good time to upgrade.

Don’t just look at the playing surface.

Good tables don’t just have a great playing surface, make sure you check out the support legs. All good tables have leg levellers. This is essential if you plan on playing outdoor table tennis. All Tables should be 76cm from ground level.

An athlete’s job is to undergo rigorous physical training and practice before and after, which mostly results in strained and sore muscles.

Massage is a great way to help athletes rejuvenate and recharge those sore muscles before another workout or game.

In addition to rejuvenation and relaxation, massage therapy is also efficient in warming up the muscles prior to a physical activity. This is a great way of preventing injuries since tight muscles are prone to damages.

Because of the growing popularity of massage among athletes, the concept of sports therapy massage has been invented to cater to the specific needs of an athlete or any other person who is engaged in intense physical activities.

Doctors even advise athletes to get a massage prior to a game since sports therapy can loosen muscles, improve flexibility, and increase circulation that not only contributes to optimal sports performance but can also prevent largely the risks of injuries such as pulled muscles, fractures, and sprains.

Furthermore, a sports massage therapy can also positively affect the athlete by improving range of motion, increasing bodily flow of fluids, and release endorphins. Athletes around the world make use of sports massages to prepare their body for strenuous physical exercise and to relax afterwards.

Many athletes think it is great that there are now various kinds of <noindex>massage chairs</noindex>, available in the market today that perform sports related massages such as Swedish, shiatsu, reflexology, acupressure, and deep tissue massage.

Massage chairs include features that are designed for both amateur and professional athletes. Features such as adjustable speed and intensity, MP3 player, reclining system, and stretching system make these electronic devices even more efficient and useful.

Just like a real massage therapist, a massage chair can provide all the benefits of sports therapy such as improved circulation, tension release for the muscles, quick rehabilitation of injuries, and decrease of muscular aches and pains.

You do not have to call up your masseuse every time you need a massage. You can easily get one from your massage chair and experience instant relaxation and satisfaction, and that is the best investment for your body out there.

Are massage chairs cheap? No, but is it not worth your investment to have a quality chair that can do everything for you plus get you through any injury, or muscle pains you might have experienced in the past.

It does not matter the sport- golf, tennis, football, and or basketball- you will find that a massage chair that provides excellent <noindex>sports therapy </noindex>, can be your best ally in defeating muscle pains, backaches, and sports-related injuries.

Want to find out more about the benefits of massage chairs. Visit Dr. Alan Weidner’s site <noindex>www.massage-chair-relief.com</noindex> on how to choose the best chair for your needs.

Do you come home tired after a long day at work? Maybe after a long day, your feet are tired and sore? Or perhaps you’re under a little more stress and need some relief from body aches? Most people these days simply do not have enough time to relax and get the relief that they need. Well, now massage chairs offer you all the advantages of massage but in the convenience of your own home.

You can now find a host of new therapeutic treatments incorporated into massage chairs. The latest and greatest technology is being used to relieve, soothe and pamper your body. Massage chairs have the ability to massage your entire body from head to toe.

One of the important features of a massage chair is having a music player. It is Paramount to relax your mind. If your mind does not relax, then it is much more difficult to release the tension in the body. A relaxed mind helps ease the tension in the body.

Music is extensively used in massage therapy. It is used to relax and quiet the mind. If your mind ruminates on its problems, then the body does not relax. MP3 players with headphones come with the best massage chairs to provide the proper relaxation environment.

The technology of massage chairs continues to evolve rapidly. One of the great benefits is that practically every massage treatment of importance has been replicated in massage chairs. You can now find such massage treatments as Swedish, shiatsu, acupressure, reflexology and many more.

What would you prefer, a shiatsu massage or a Swedish massage right now? A massage chair gives you this choice of massage treatment whenever you like. It effectively penetrates deeply into the muscle tissue providing relief and invigoration.

A very relieving massage technique is compression massage. This uses gentle squeezing, holding and releasing to relieve tension and muscles. Massage chairs use airbags driven by an air compressor to provide a realistic compression massage.

Many massage chairs now incorporate reflexology massage for your feet. The feet are an important gateway to relaxation. They host a bundle of nerve endings which when stimulated help to relieve and release tension in your body. The reflexology massage incorporated into the foot rest of a massage chair can be an excellent source of relief for your feet.

Massage chairs produce a number of different movements to stimulate and relieve aches and pains in the body. Many of these movements use stretching, pulling and elongating of the soft tissues for relief. Movements such as kneading, tapping and rolling are effective and relieving muscle tension.

Massage chairs also are equipped with stretching systems. These stretching systems are able to elongate the lower body. They effectively stretch you from the hips to the ankles. This provides great relief for the lower body.

Another important therapy introduced in many massage chairs is heat. Heat therapy is commonly used to relieve pain, reduce swelling and to enhance blood flow. Just the comfort of heat is very soothing and of itself.

Getting effective relief when you need it is very important. Massage chairs provide you with the ability to get massage treatments on demand. They can be used to relieve your stress and tension when you need it most.

Massage chairs are the most convenient and practical method to receive frequent massage therapy. Locate one in your home or office and you can receive daily massage treatments. Get the effective relief you need, when you need it with your own massage chair.

You deserve great <noindex>Massage Chair Therapy</noindex> everytime with your own massage chair. You can get a great massage based on your busy schedule. It is a drag to have to rely on people when you really need relief. <noindex>Massage Chairs</noindex> give you deep relief and consistent massage treatments.

There really is no such thing as a <noindex>fast weight loss program</noindex>. Chances are if you lose weight in a short period of time it is just water weight. You will probable gain it back and probable a few extra pounds to boot.

To lose weight effectively and for a long time you will need to change your diets habits. You will also need to begin an exercise program.

As far as exercise if you want to do something more energetic like tennis or running that would be great but if you want more of a low impact exercise program that is fine to.

Going for a brisk walk is an excellent low impact exercise. If you do not want to go outside park a tread mill in front of the T.V. and watch your favorite program while you walk.

I try to get my exercise out of the way early in the day, the longer I put it off the more reasons I think of not to do it.

I have been using a program for a while called “Strip That Fat”. It is working well for me, It reminds that big brother is watching. Well sort of, If I do not stick with the program I do not lose the recommended amount of weight that week.

The bottom line is that they know I did not stick to the plan.

They help you pick out five meals a day. This stops you from feeling hungry at midday, it also kicks the metabolism into gear. you need fuel to burn stored fat so starvation diets just do not work.

Their is no magic pill or elixir that is just going to make the extra weight disappear. It’s going to take a good consistent effort to make the pounds go away.

The extra pounds are not going to just disappear, You are going to have to change your eating habits and start a exercise program. A <noindex>fast weight loss program</noindex> is just a dream.

There is no question that tennis elbow can have a tremendous effect on your daily activities. For most people suffering with this injury, grasping a coffee cup in the morning can be extremely painful and difficult.

If you really want to beat this debilitating injury, there are 3 simple tennis elbow exercises you can perform to help increase the range of motion, decrease stiffness, improve mobility and strength of your injured muscles and tendons.

Tennis Elbow Exercises 1 – Wrist Extension For this exercise, you will again need the can of soup or a 1 liter of soda. Place a soup can or 1 liter of soda in your hand with palm facing downwards toward the floor. Support your forearm at the edge of a table or on your knee so that only your hand can move. Let the wrist down slowly go past parallel to almost 90 degrees with your forearm and then slowly come back up to parallel with the floor.

Tennis Elbow Exercises 2 – Forearm Pronation/Supination For this exercise, I recommend you use a hammer, wrench, something that you can get a nice grip on. Once you have something in your hand with forearm supported by the arm of a chair, your knee or coffee table. Rotate hand to palm down position, return to start position (hammer perpendicular to floor), rotate to palm up position, repeat. To increase or decrease the resistance, try moving your hand farther away or closer towards the head of the hammer. In other words, if you are grasping the hammer at the very end of the handle and the head of the hammer is the furthest away from your hand, then this will be the most challenging and greatest resistance for you

Tennis Elbow Exercises 3 – Finger Extension Interweave a thick rubber band around all five fingers. Keeping your elbow as straight as possible [but if you feel pain when you completely straighten your arm only straighten as far as you can without pain], try to straighten and spread your fingers outwards as if you were going to catch a softball. Hold for three seconds, then let your fingers relax naturally; do not close your hand completely. For added resistance, use a second rubber band. Repeat for 25 repetitions for 3 sets.

If you are serious about dissolving your elbow pain and want to get rid of this stubborn injury for good, I recommend you check out the internet’s number one resource for tennis elbow treatment, where you will learn five simple techniques to eliminate your elbow pain in as little as 72 hours and completely cure it within 30 days!

If you’ve been long suffering from tennis elbow, then finding the proper treatment is vital and essential for a speedy recovery.

The following is a list of the top 5 treatment methods that have been proven and documented to work together to cure and treat tennis elbow.

Tennis elbow treatment and rehabillitation should be understood as if you have a soft tissue injury and therefore the treatment methods listed below follow a specific process which is they are numbered one through five.

Method #1The first and probably the most important method of treatment has to be rest. Rest is essential for any injury and it is essential if you plan on using any other methods to treat your tennis elbow symptoms.

Method #2The second method which is very effective in the treatment of elbow pain is to use ice. Any doctor will tell you to keep ice on your muscle injury or tendon injury as this will help to reduce the swelling, easy the pain, and help to reduce inflammation. This in turn also helps to speed up healing.

Method #3The third method is to use compression. You can get specific wraps that can be placed around your wrist and arm and this is another method that can be used to keep the swelling to a minimum and prevent any further damage to the muscles and tendons. Compression also helps to keep everything in place.

Method #4The fourth treatment method is elevation. If you can try to keep your arm elevated above heart level it will help to prevent further swelling and help to reduce pain. Swelling is often caused when there is too much blood in the site of the injury and by elevating your arm you will be reducing the amount of blood in this area.

Method #5If none of the above treatment methods are working and your symptoms are getting much worse, then you need to see your family doctor as you may have something more serious going on – like a broken bone. You will need to have a specialist look at your injury and correctly diagnose that you are suffering from tennis elbow.

Your medical professional will also determine what course of treatment is necessary for you. Once you begin to feel improvement and your symptoms lessen, thenyou can then take matters into your own hands and start to practice some of the tennis elbow exercises that are available, on a daily basis. You will need to start our simple but in time you will be able to increase the resistance that you use in these exercises.

You should never rush the resistance or tension when performing these exercises, as this can exascerbate the problem and make it worse. You need to make sure that your muscles and tendons are properly prepared.

That’s the top 5 tennis elbow treatment methods that you can use. There is one more thing that I should mention, and that is if you are taking pain relief medication then you should make sure that you are taking something that includes an anti-inflammatory to help keep the swelling down.

Looking to find the quickest and best relief for <noindex>tennis elbow</noindex> ?
